For many home services companies, exchanging ideas and best practices – as well as understanding and succeeding in the sales process – is an area that is often inadvertently neglected by busy contractors. A new podcast, “Leaps and Bounds” from Columbia, Maryland-based home services software company Leap, aims to change that.

Hosted by Tom Basch, Leap’s Head of Customer Experience, the show is a fresh sales and business-focused podcast geared toward the professional home services and contractor community.

“Leaps and Bounds” offers its listeners a broad range of expertise from the home services, sales and business worlds. In a recent episode, proven leader Louie Leger, owner of Home Improvement Pros, shared his insights on what it means to be an entrepreneur and business owner. Leger and provides examples of real-life challenges that business owners face. In another episode, Michael Lyons from Long Roofing discusses his climb through the company to his current position as corporate sales trainer. Lyons explains his approach to selling and how he trains sales reps to be successful by always focusing on the “why.” Basch and Lyons also dive into what role technology plays and how even small companies can ensure proper training without necessarily investing large resources.
While the focus of the podcast is on the home services industry, Leaps and Bounds also tells the human-interest side of business. Recently, the podcast featured the remarkable success story of Greta Bajrami, owner of Golden Group Construction. Bajrami, who emigrated from Albania to the United States as a child, joined the roofing business as an adult and completely innovated the construction process and elevated the customer experience. Basch and Bajrami discuss the events that have shaped and rewritten her American dream, shattering glass ceilings in a male-dominated industry along the way.
