Michael Strmac
Co-Founder & Owner of

Michael started working in the remodeling industry in 1998 where he helped grow his team’s sales to 5 million. In 2000, Michael left to become an entrepreneur and opened a furniture store in Maryland. In the midst of Sept 11th, he moved back to his hometown of Cleveland and in 2002 Michael co-founded Universal Windows Direct in Cleveland and never looked back.

In 2006, Universal Windows Direct opened their first dealership licensee and have since grown to 40 dealership locations. In 2008, they opened their first branch store in Charlotte, NC and now have 9 retail locations and growing. In 2010, Michael was named Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2019, Universal Windows Direct hit $100 million in sales and they are currently ranked #10 on Qualified Remodeler’s Top 500 list!
